Ok, time for the real deal in Wetrix. This one isn't a tutorial, it's an acctual game, and I think this will be the true reason behind my director status. Though since only Classic and Preset Sequence A play like this, I think those two would be the only games that last more than 10 minutes, but I've been wrong before. First off, I've got a floor pattern up that isn't standard for this mode, that was a prize for completing all 8 tutorial missions. This time around, the points will show, and there's more to the game than what was in the tutorial. In level 2, you start seeing ice cubes, which freeze a lake. You can't instantly evaporate a frozen lake, and anything in the lake will be frozen with it, including ducks. In level 4, mines start to show up. If the lake with the mine is evaporated, it will detonate, blowing a hole in the floor, and draining most of the lake out of that hole, thus robbing you of points and filling the drain. Also note, through the game, I pick up 3 smart bomb items (so they're called, I call them reset buttons), they clear the map of everything, level it, and drain the drain (oxymoron?) as well as drop the earthquake meter. Very handy in a tight spot. You can get a smart bomb by having 5 or more lakes at level up in Classic or Pro modes, but other modes don't offer them. You start with 10 of these bad boys if you play Practice, but there's no scoring in Practice, so it's not worth it. Note that the main menu and the game background do not render properly, that is an emulation issue. Considering that the game isn't very popular (at least from what I hear), it's not one of those games that an emulation team would try to optimize. In fact, without proper settings, Wetrix runs twice as fast on PJ64 than it does on a real N64. That's all for now, more in the future.
