TheOpenLens's video: FOXES SURROUND ME

Best five minutes of my life! First a few foxes came, then the entire large family showed up and played, ate, and lounged all around me. It happened on Round Island in Bristol Bay, Alaska, where I spent a week working as an independent contractor with my friends Dr. Travis Rector and Paola Banchero from the University of Alaska Anchorage. We were there working on a film about the island and its wildlife. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game really helped me out by letting me sleep in the storm tent you see in the video. It gave me access to the tolerant, curious, playful foxes. The foxes have no predators on the island so they do not fear people. It gave me a once in a lifetime opportunity to get some close-up footage of these amazing animals. Yes, I'm the same person whose gopro was munched on by a fox ("Fox kills and eats my gopro"); that happened later on the trip. I regret putting the gopro out within reach of the fox. I won't ever do that again.
