An intensely weird - yet intriguing - bit of world building, with an ultimately unsatisfying plot and a cast of one dimensional characters that are difficult to tell apart. The author orchestrates the characters thoughts and actions far too much to be realistic and takes away from the story any organic mystery or revelation due to an excessive use of memory loss as a plot device. Just didn't work for me at all, unfortunately.
