I’m always up for trying new methods of hair removal, so when someone sent me an epilator during the last mail time opening I thought I’d give it a shot. This all came about during a livestream I did a few weeks ago where the topic of hair removal came up. Like any woman, I’ve had my battles with body hair. I’ve been having regular laser hair removal treatments for about a year now with some very good results. The only drawback is it’s a slow process. Though I’m happy to say I’m about 95% free of my facial hair, the rest of me still needs work. My current methods involve mostly shaving with some sporadic waxing thrown in. The people joining me for the livestream that night kept talking about their preferred methods and epilating kept coming up. I’d never heard of such a thing until then but they assured me it was just as devious and painful as all the other methods. They explained it was like electric tweezers but instead of one, forty of them would rip out your follicles. I didn’t think much of it until I did a mail time opening and someone had sent me one. Seeing as how I frequently make a fool of myself on the internet through videos, it seemed fitting to try it out on camera. Let me start by saying that this little device sounds like a power drill and had two settings, painful and extra painful. Have you ever thought something sounded like a good idea until you did it? Well that’s epilating. Once I’d finally worked up the courage to put it on my skin, it felt like a jolt of electricity. It stung. No matter how i held it or what setting I used, it was misery the whole way. So what’s my final verdict? It works, it works really well actually. On the spots I used it I had a silky smooth finish. Most of the time these hair removal gimmicks aren’t that effective, but not the epilator. With that being said, I don’t see how it’s practical, it hurts so much I couldn’t do any substantial area on my body. I’ll stick with shaving in between laser sessions and if I feel the need for something more, waxing is a good option. Enjoy the video and my reactions to using this evil device.
