TheSoutherner's video: Keighley Worth Valley Railway 23 08 2020

@Keighley & Worth Valley Railway 23/08/2020
The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway have welcomed back steam to their rails in West Yorkshire with their 'Back in Steam' Summer Specials, as part of their phased reopening. Their reopening timetable consisted of four return trips between Oxenhope and Keighley, with prolonged intervals at the former to allow the coaching stock to be cleaned thoroughly to meet current government guidelines. Although four 4F Class locomotives survived into preservation, 43924 - in charge of the days' services on the KWVR - is the sole surviving Ex-Midland Railway example, built at Derby Works in 1920. 43924 would see 45 years of service - being withdrawn by British Railways in 1965, and would become the first locomotive to leave Barry Island Scrapyard when it was purchased for preservation 1970. Locomotives: Ex-MR 3835 4F Class - 43924 All footage filmed on Sunday the 23rd of August 2020.
