TheUglylucy4's video: Human Touch

@Human Touch
"Human Touch" was written by Bruce Springsteen and is the opening track of of his ninth studio LP that goes by the same name...Human Touch. This 1992 album was co-released on the same day as Lucky Town. It was the more popular of the two, and it peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Chart. "Human Touch" peaked at No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock chart and No. 16 on the Billboard 100 Chart. "Human Touch" has easily sold over one million copies in the United States since that time. "Human Touch" tells the story about coming to terms with those demons lurking in your mind, the ones that prevent you from reaching out for what you desire, what we all need. However basic it may be, we all crave human touch. This song is centered around two people...one woman and one man. The author presents his suggestion to his woman of interest..."Girl, ain't no kindness in the face of strangers, Ain't gonna find no miracles here, Well you can wait on your blesses my darlin', I got a deal for you right here". He would love to get with this woman because life is hard and he wants her touch with some love..."I ain't lookin' for praise or pity, I ain't comin' 'round searchin' for a crutch, I just want someone to talk to, And a little of that human touch". However the woman has been hurt and is having problems with relationships..."Oh girl that feeling of safety you prize, Well it comes at a hard hard price, You can't shut off the risk and the pain, Without losin' the love that remains, We're all riders on this train". That middle verse says it all...you can't have all the love and happiness without the baggage, without taking a risk, and without taking that odd lump, that odd fall...if you hide away you shut yourself off. With the materialist world we are in, what we all need is "human touch". Some of us all busy with our work schedules...and forget about our loved ones and relationships. Some of us...are just afraid to open up and stay lonely. What we all need is "feel a little of human touch". The ballad I think is pretty straight-forward. Serious relationships produce pain, so neither of the two people in this song are looking for anything too serious. But companionship is always nice, and that is where we find Springsteen's message...about just wanting someone to be around, something without a lot of complications. Bruce Springsteen is one of the greatest song writers I have experienced...and "Human Touch" flies under the radar far too easily. This is one of his best.
