It is important to be able to squat at least 1.5 times your bodyweight before starting any plyometrics training. The most important strength training exercises for your legs are barbell squats, dumbbell and barbell lunges, deadlifts, split squats, dumbbell and barbell step ups and glute ham raises. The more weight you can lift with your legs the higher you will be able to jump.
