Flying the eastern Malaysian subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines, MASwings from the island of Labuan to Kota Kinabalu. This 30 min flight on MASwings is the shortest flight I've ever flown on! MASwings is a regional airline which operates ATR aircraft from the provinces of Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan in Eastern Malaysia. The Labuan - Kota Kinabalu sector is served by some 7-8 daily flights from MASwings. This flight was flown in December 2013. Scheduled flying time was 30 min with actual flying time being around 20 min. Scheduled departure time was 3:20 pm in the afternoon and arrival was at 3:50 pm. I'd prebooked my seat earlier. The plane was a 5 year old ATR 72-500 registered 9M-MWE. This is definitely a flight that one must add to his or her bucket list as the view out of the window is absolutely spectacular! I overall found MASwings quite enjoyable and would gladly fly them again, if only for their amazingly scenic routes!
