My experience on board Air India's Regional Subsidiary Air India Regional from Kochi to Bengaluru. Definitely one of the better regional airlines of the world and one of the few that serve meals on their short regional hops. Flight time today was 1 hr and 15 min with actual flying time being less than an hour. Scheduled departure was at 1850 in the evening and arrival at 2005 at Bengaluru. My seat for this flight was 9D on the right side. Aircraft for this flight was an ATR 42-300, VT-ABB, which was still in the old pre-merger Alliance Air Colors. I did enjoy this experience with AI-R. Though surely not the best airline in India, I'm sure it would put many full service carriers around the world to shame. I think a trip on AI-R just to experience the ATR 42 is great. The only thing which perhaps could have been improved was the crew, who could have been slightly more friendlier, but they still put up a great effort on this short flight.
