Theairplaneguy4ever's video: Firefly FY2211 : Flying from Penang to Kuala Lumpur

Another short hop on Malaysian regional carrier, Firefly, between the Island of Penang and Kuala Lumpur's Subang airport. Firefly were great on this route and I wouldn't hesitate to fly them again. Firefly flies out of the much smaller Subang airport in Kuala Lumpur, and serves it's flights primarily with ATR turboprops. This flight was flown in December 2013. Scheduled flying time for this sector is just an hour, but the actual flying time is much shorter at 40 min. Scheduled time of departure was 06:10 pm with arrival being at 07:10 pm, just in time to see the sun set. I'd prebooked seat 5A right next to the turboprops. The aircraft for this flight was a brand new ATR 72-600 series, my first time flying on this type, registered 9M-FIA and in a special livery. The flight was great, but a bit less enjoyable than the onward one. The seat on the ATR 72-6 is a bit more cramped than the ATR 72-5, but apart from that it was fine. FY don't have any real IFE apart from the IFE magazine, but I wasn't bored because the view outside was spectacular. For the in-flight snack and drink run, there was a choice between a gingerbread man and a bag of peanuts as well as a drink choice of either apple or orange juice, which is brilliant for a small regional carrier. Plus, the quality of the food was great. The crew on this flight were quite friendly although they seemed a bit more tired than the crew on my onward flight. Airfare for this flight was some 1100 INR, which is amazingly cheap for such an FCC like airline.
