Themeparkfanatic's video: My Very Last Trip to Wet n Wild Orlando

@My Very Last Trip to Wet 'n Wild Orlando
This is my very last trip to Wet 'n Wild Orlando, the grandfather of all modern water parks. This park was created by George Millay and opened on March 13, 1977 and closed forever on December 31, 2016. This was the first modern water park and in had several firsts during it's lifetime. It was the first to combine water slides (Kamikaze 1977-1992), a Wave Pool (1977-2016), and beaches. Der Stuka (1986-2016) was the first and steepest body slide of it's kind and it originally had two slides on the tower. The other one was another first called Bomb Bay. Riders would board Bomb Bay standing up and then the capsule would be locked and moved over the slide. Then there was a countdown and the floor opened up allowing sliders to slide down the rest of the way. the other slides on this tower were a twin enclosed twisting creation called Blue Niagara (1986-2007). Those two slides twisted around each-other. That slide was replaced by Brainwash (2007-2016). There was the Black Hole (1990-2016) which was one of the worlds first themed water slides. This one was obviously space themed and it replaced the Corkscrew that operated from 1977-1990. The Wave Pool wasn't the first one but is was among the first to be built in the US.
