Third Rail Media US's video: BRUNO: Filmmaking Ethics Of Fire Extinguisher Gag

@BRUNO: Filmmaking Ethics Of Fire Extinguisher Gag
This clip from Universal Picture's 2009 release 'Bruno' is posted for journalism purposes of discussing filmmaking ethics, and is only to document the usage of a fire extinguisher on another human being as a sex toy as commercial entertainment. Universal declined to comment when asked if this qualified as ethical filmmaking - or if the scene had been vetted by Universal legal before releasing to the public. Universal referred comment request to Media Rights Capital (MRC) who also declined to comment. SAG-AFTRA says it has "no information about the incident" and referenced their safety page. Rich Ferraro of GLAAD issued this statement: "With negative reactions from so many in the LGBT community, as well as many in the film industry, the film (BRUNO) makes clear that more sensitive practices and content be priorities for the industry moving forward." And it appears from the fire extinguisher's logo that an Amerex fire safety product may have been used for the scene. Amerex issued this statement: "Amerex has concerns regarding the use of this product other than for firefighting. These would include the pressurization of the extinguisher, the contents used that replaced the agent in the extinguisher, and the potential for physical harm. Fire extinguishers are designed for one specific use: the suppression of fires. Amerex has never been involved in product placement, nor has the company been asked for product placement...Amerex was not aware of this movie or the sequence in which an extinguisher that appears to be an Amerex extinguisher is used." The actor working with Cohen in the scene, Clifford Banagales, says that Sacha Baron Cohen keeps him under an non-disclosure agreement that only Cohen can release him from.
