@Grand Misconceptions: Humans Evolved from Monkeys
A great amount of things you learnt in school is just plain wrong It’s very unfortunate that what we learnt, about the world and ourselves goes on to influence not only how we argue in everyday life, but our belief systems and view of the world. Most interesting information you have about the Great wall of China, Pyramids of Egypt, Where Oxygen comes from, how much of our brains we use, how Newton discovered Gravity, and how diamonds are actually made, is probably wrong. Schools and teachers are guilty of passing this wrong information; And today we look at one such misconception. My name is ThisOtherGuy and this is “Humans Evolved from Monkeys” To subscribe https://www.youtube.com/c/ThisOtherGuyBW?sub_confirmation=1 More Videos https://www.youtube.com/c/ThisOtherGuyBW/videos Twitter https://twitter.com/This_OtherGuy Facebook https://www.facebook.com/ThisOtherGuyOnline Background to This Video Raise your hand if you were taught in school that people evolved from monkeys This is a monkey This is a person In school you may have been taught, quite literally, that this (person) comes from this (monkey). This oversimplification of the truth might have just been your teacher having a real agenda against the theory of evolution; If your teacher left you believing that people actually evolved from monkeys, He or she should also have explained to you that he or she graduated by mistake. I know that the title of this video is Humans Evolved From Monkeys This takes from the common misconception people have about the Theory of Evolution. The message contained in this video is that Humans did not evolve from monkeys More likely than not, your teachers actually understand the fundamentals of the Theory of Evolution, but they incorrectly interpret it to mock the theory. So they spread false information to ridicule it and degrade its value in the public eye. But then again your teacher may not have any agenda at all, and may be thinking that they were teaching you the correct postulation of the Theory of Evolution. In which case you should demand to see their certificate This, boys and girls, is why many people mistakenly believe humans evolved from monkeys. Despite what you learnt in school, humans did not evolve from monkeys According to Evolution, monkeys and humans share a common ancestor more connected with Old World Monkeys; and have very little connection to New World Monkeys; Scientists believe this common ancestor existed 5 to 8 million years ago in Africa. It just so happens, according to evolution, that the common ancestor looked more like and ape than a human. Shortly thereafter, the species diverged into two separate lineages. One of these lineages ultimately evolved into gorillas and chimps, and the other, into early human ancestors called hominids. The Chimps thought it would be more fun to live in the forest where there was food And hominids, thought, “hey, we’re gonna invent something called talking, go to school and learn how to build skyscrapers.” “We don’t wanna live in the forest hanging on tree branches anymore.” Then the chimps said, “Ok, you go ahead cousin, I’m just gonna hang around here and see how many of these fruits I can stick on my mouth at a time, for the next 20 million years or so.” Chimps don’t like to explain themselves. So they chose to be chimps because they thought it would be more fun to be them Than having to be human and go through the headache of explaining to their kids why they are taught in school that they evolved from apes when they don’t look like apes.
