Thrillist's video: Tim Chantarangsu and Justina Valentine Try Taiwanese Blood Rice Cakes Acquired Taste

@Tim Chantarangsu and Justina Valentine Try Taiwanese Blood Rice Cakes || Acquired Taste
In this episode of Acquired Taste, Tim Chantarangsu tries blood rice cakes, a classic Taiwanese street food that’s made of sticky rice mixed with congealed pigs’ blood, then steamed and fried. He heads to Legend Chicken in Flushing, NYC to try this traditional snack with his fellow Wild 'n Out cast member, Justina Valentine. Together they learn about the different types of Taiwanese street foods and give them a try, no matter how skeptical Justina might be. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Wild ‘n Out reunion unless things got a little, well, wild. Looking for ways to help local restaurants while social distancing? Tim Chantarangsu (nee DeLaGhetto, 1.5M Instagram followers) is no stranger to exotic food. He has a theory — if he eats the parts of animals most people don’t, it will make him more powerful. In this Thrillist show, Tim interviews a squeamish guest as they try dishes most people avoid at all costs and power up. Tim carefully pairs each dish to his guest: crickets because they feed them to their pet snake, or chicken feet because of all the times they chickened out on crazy adventures. From live octopus at Flushing’s Sik Gaek to silkworm at LA’s Jitlada, Tim will deliver an interview rarer than the food that’s crawling on the table. Together, they learn about how the dish came about, why it’s culturally important, and try it for themselves.
