Maybe You Are, @AsafAvidan & The Mojos (The Reckoning, 2008) In my music life, I have one lucky song. The kind of song that brings you all sorts of amazing opportunities. It's that cover I made of Reckoning Song, by Asaf Avidan. It's the most viewed on my channel: https://youtu.be/RiWscumVF2A (9 years ago!), it's the one that made me be invited on my local radio when I was 16, and the one I sang during my audition for Nouvelle Star (French version of Idols) and got me through to the next round: https://youtu.be/8KHIoLQgqtQ. But initially, when I discovered Asaf Avidan, there was another song that stuck to me baaaadly. It's the first song of his first album, The Reckoning, released in 2008. I can't begin to tell you how many times I listened to it. On repeat 🔁 Over and over again. It was speaking to my soul in a way I could not quite explain. Back then I probably did not understand the meaning behind the lyrics either. But it just did. Anyway, yesterday, Asaf shared a post saying "My first ever album 'The Reckoning' has just turned 13 years old." so I listened to this album again. And oh well, this song still does something to me!
