"Bohemia" Joseph F. Lamb ragtime played by pianist Guido Nielsen = best ragtime ever! great piano I view Joseph Francis Lamb as a giant! Lamb is one of the two greatest composers of classical ragtime--Scott Joplin was greater, but Lamb is second. Others are at a distance though the handful of "rags" composed by Jelly Roll Morton are as good as anything (I'm not sure they are true rags). Someone said or wrote long ago that James Scott is one of the big three, as if James Scott is in the same league as Joplin and Lamb. It's a cliche repeated when people talk about ragtime. I've listened to rags by James Scott, looking for gems, but found nothing that stays in my head. OK, we all have different tastes. Lamb rags are addictive.
