Tim's video: Yamaha MT10 - First Ride Review 2020

This is a first ride review of the Yamaha MT10, a naked version of the Yamaha R1. I am a short rider at 160cm tall, 30inch inseam and 56kgs. I find it difficult to ride bikes with higher seat heights. When I started learning to ride I wanted a 2014 Yamaha R1 in grey, but unfortunately was too short for the mega high seat of 855mm. The Yamaha MT10 is a naked version and has a few differences from the R1, namely a new rear subframe with lower, narrower seat, reducing the seat height to 825mm and a new endro style fuel tank, as well as handle bars. Due to the narrower and slighly lower seat height I am able to ride the Yamaha MT10. Sitting centrally on the seat I can get tippy toes on both sides, with one foot on the footpegs I can get a full foot on the floor. For me the riding position is one of the best, its comfortable yet sporty, mirroring the MT09 riding position. Coupled with the amazing cross plane crank engine, makes for a complete all round motorcycle experience. I love this bike. Its just a shame its so expensive at $18,000.
