Tim's video: Brembo Monoblock Brake Caliper - How to Rebuild

@Brembo Monoblock Brake Caliper - How to Rebuild
In this video, I show how I rebuilt and serviced my Brembo Monoblock 4-Piston Calipers that are standard on the Suzuki GSX-R600, 750 and 1000 from 2011 onwards. The design is very similar to the M4 and GP4-RS cast monoblock calipers. First remove the calipers from the bike, then remove the pads. Then wash and clean the caliper. The best tool I used was a super fine grade of steel wool. Then the hardest part is pushing out the pistons with an air compressor. Work one piston at a time. Once a piston is popped, remove the seals, reinsert the piston, hold in place with wood blocks, then pop the next. The last piston will be hard to get out. Once out, clean the piston bores, wash with brake fluid, reinsert the new dust and piston seals, then insert the pistons, clean and done. Common reasons to rebuild a caliper are: 1) Leaking brake fluid from calipers 2) Uneven brake pad wear 3) Old age, the piston and dust seals degrade over time and exposure to water and heat. Costs: New seals $35 Special equipment: Pick Set Air compressor
