Let's talk about what you can NOT do with Adobe After Effects! Check out the video on my main channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1o-SM2cbuKg I love Adobe After Effects and all the cool things you can create with the software, but it is important to understand what it is really meant for and what it's limitations are. After Effects is a *video compositing* tool and as such not targeted at creating 3D elements or animations, simulating explosions, smoke or water or tracking more than some basic camera shots. For those tasks you need to expand your knowledge into dedicated 3D packages, physics simulation tools and advanced camera tracking software. Once you have tracked, created and animated all the visual elements you need for your final shot, THEN you can take them back to composite them in Adobe After Effects - or Nuke or any other compositing tool you prefer to use.
