Learn about Copyright on YouTube and why it's important to understand the rights for using any material that you did not create yourself in your videos. Here are a few important notes: - Any material that you did not create yourself, be it audio or visual, could be infringing someone else's copyright. - Adding any type of disclaimer (such as 'this is not my material' or 'I do not intend to claim rights') does NOT protect you against copyright infringement. Disclaimers do not give you any rights to use the material - Even when purchasing or downloading 'royalty free' material online, make sure you understand the license associated with the files. - Beware of user uploaded content. You could still be infringing someone's copyright by accident. - YouTube has a database of copyrighted audio material. Whenever you upload a video onto your YouTube channel the audio track will be matched against the database.
