Todd Switzer's video: Toyota 4x4 1986 Pickup to Flatbed Conversion - Part 2

The Toyota 4x4 rebuild and conversion to flatbed camper project continues with the bed off and the frame behind the cab exposed. It's a rusty mess from too many Baja trips and mid-west winters with salted roads. I get to work on removing rust from the frame and rear bumper package with a 3-step rust removal and treatment program (wire brush, sand blaster, acid-based rust treatment) before painting with rust inhibiting primer and top coat paint. The rear breaks get a tear down; clean & reconditioned structure, then fully rebuilt, diff fluid changed out, new Old Man Emu (ARB) leaf springs and shocks installed, drop fuel tank and guard with cleaning and paint, new soft brake lines, reinstalled tank with new fuel lines, added fuel and it fired right up. If its old is out, right down to the bolts if there is any sign of wear. Next up, the frame work continues under the cab and forward into the front suspension.
