That nice blurry background that you see in other people's photos and videos can be in your videos as well. It wasn't long ago that if you wanted a blurry background video, you'd have to use an app to do it for you. But Instagram has added the Instagram focus mode to get that great bokeh effect. This is sort of a bokeh tutorial, or a 'blurry background tutorial.' I created this video because people are always asking me how to get a blurry background in video, or how to get a blurred background in a video, and even more specifically they ask me how to blur the background in Instagram. The Instagram Focus feature is sort of like getting the iOS portrait mode in video, which the iOS app will not let you do, at least currently. Since you cannot film in portrait mode, and there is no filming in portrait mode in the foreseeable future, and because having to use some sort of blurry background app is sort of a hassle, we can all be thankful that Instagram has included the focus mode in their app in the Instagram Stories section.
