Perhaps unexpectedly, this version of bloodletting beast is the easier of the two for this type of run. He gains a worm head, but loses a lot of his melee strings and input read slams. The double horizontal sweep is always safe to 3 hit punish on this version because he can't input read cancel into the big slam. The only thing he has that is more dangerous than his counterpart is the ability to follow up the double ground pound combo chain with a slam, however, I've found a way to manipulate his AI into pretty much never using it. If you swing in between the first and second ground pound, he will pretty much never cancel into the slam if you time it right. His range game is also severely neutered, opting to shoot stupid bees instead of falcon punches and sweeps, so he is easier to approach as well. As for the worm head, it is annoying if you approach him head on, but if you approach him at an angle, you can abuse the fact that it only goes in a straight line. By baiting out the worm thrust, you can hit his hands. To make it even better, staying near his hands to hit them often prompts him to follow up with a second worm thrust, turning it into a 3-4 hit opening. The other worm attack is the follow up after the slam, but it takes so long and is so easy to avoid that it turns the slam into a three hit opening whereas before you could only safely get one or two.
