Gisella Giurfa is a Peruvian drummer known for her work at the peruvian franchise of The Voice and for her performances with Latin Grammy award winner Gianmarco. "I met Gisella at Warmi Rock Camp Peru, a rock camp for girls in Lima, and was immediately inspired by her energy, her warmth, her willingness to teach and learn, and not to mention her out of this world chops on the drum set." - Mayra Lucia Cortez (Producer) While on the "Libre" tour with Gianmarco, she took time off her schedule to talk to Tom Tom about the roots of her music and her experience as one of the few touring female drummers from South America. Mayra Cortez is a musician, journalist and educator from Lima, Peru now residing in Los Angeles. She hopes to make more space for womxn musicians through her writing and video producing. She currently plays drums for surf-pop band Hyacinth Girl and is working on a South American Folk pop album under the name of Inti-Wawa.
