Tongal's video: Animating Pieter Bruegel s Elder Hunters in the Snow - Art History

@Animating Pieter Bruegel's Elder Hunters in the Snow - Art History
Pieter Bruegel the Elder's masterpiece, The Hunters in the Snow, captures a scene frozen in the heart of winter. This 1565 oil-on-wood painting depicts a vast winter landscape bustling with activity despite the harsh conditions. This captivating painting inspired me to create a short animation piece. I aimed to capture this winter wonderland at a more human scale - a glimpse into the lives of those inhabited this world Bruegel so masterfully captured. Throughout the process I couldn't help but be transported to the 1500's. I imagined myself skating on the frozen pond, walking the snow-laden paths and bridges, inhaling the crisp winter air, and observing the daily routines of the inhabitants. This painting truly is a portal to a bygone era. Cinema 4D served as my primary software for the animation's creation, handling modeling, texturing, and rendering. To further enhance the visual quality, texture maps for the 3D assets were refined in Photoshop and Substance Painter. Finally, the rendered frames were imported to After Effects for post production, where visual effects, sound and music were added to give the animation its final form. - Jose Jacob
