Tonya Bush's video: Small Crochet Spider Applique free crochet pattern Beginner Friendly

This Crochet spider applique is a free crochet pattern for a small, cute, quick and easy crochet spider. Works up quickly and is beginner friendly made with rounds of standard single crochet stitches. Legs are worked in the last round. My beginner friendly crochet spider is made in just 4 quick rounds.  The first three are standard increase rounds of single crochet stitches and the final round is to crochet the legs.   Since I am using this spider for my Black Cat Towel Topper, I am providing instructions on how to align the legs to all be going in the same direction by tacking them in place.  The legs on the towel topper are kind of "flying free" so I didn't have any way to sew the legs in place on my project.  However, if you are using the spider for a blanket or basket you could just sew the legs in place where desired.  If this seems a little confusing don't worry - the video will explain what I mean. This crochet spider applique is flat without stuffing. However, if you want a 3D look to your spider body I would recommend working a separate main body repeating instructions for the first 3 rounds and fasten off before crocheting legs. Sew the two main body portions together and stuff just before you finish sewing together. And, instead of stuffing, leave an opening for your finger to make a fun crochet spider finger puppet - the kids would definitely get a kick out of that!
