Seeing our Thailand farmstead develop is proving to be such a rewarding venture. It has brought us together with wonderful people and continues to bring us closer to Mother Nature month by month. Our land is just over 20 acres in size, and the farm is divided into numerous different areas (zones). Zones consist of growing over 150 bamboo, oil nut palm, eucalyptus, fruit trees, crayfish, fish, poultry (chickens, ducks, and geese), goat houses, frogs, crabs, shrimp, and our main love, the fishing lake along with goat island. The rest of the farmland is pasture for our ever-increasing goat herd. At present, the herd is 58 strong (54 does and 4 bucks), browsing an abundance of organic pasture, along with a few treats here and there. This year, we gradually increased organic vegetable production while continuing with No-Till and regenerating the soil. Soil regeneration is carried out by applying all our own animal manures, green manure (chop and drop), biochar, woodchips, and integrated livestock. One thing is for sure: Farming and developing a homestead in Thailand, although challenging, is immense fun.
