4 sages have been awakened, but 2 more still remain. The map shows trouble back at Kakariko Village. Head back there to find the village on fire and Sheik staring down the dry well. Suddenly, something sinister crawls out from the dark depths and easily tosses aside our heroes. Apparently, a dark apparition has escaped the well and disappeared into the depths of the Shadow Temple, located behind the Kakariko Graveyard. Sheik explains that Impa, Zelda's caretaker, is the sage of shadow, and has gone to the temple herself. She may need your help. Sheik then teaches you the song that will warp you to the entrance to the temple: The Nocturne of Shadow! Before entering the temple, you'll need an item that can see through illusions. Its located where the beast emerged: at the bottom of the well. Unfortunately, in the future, the entrance is sealed up. Travel back in time 7 years to find a well full of water. Go inside the windmill and play the Song of Storms to make the Windmill spin so fast, it will drain the water out of the well. Traveling down, you'll find a macabre mini-dungeon full of blood-stained floors and chains. Watch out for false illusion floors as you'll take a plummet down to the lowest level of the dungeon. Creepy old foes such as Keese, Redeads, Skulltulas, and Wallmasters, will be stalking you as well. These foes might be scary, but none compare to the grotesque mini-boss guarding the item...The Dead Hand! Conquer it to obtain the Lens of Truth. When active, this magnifying glass can see things invisible to the naked eye. It can see through false doors and floors and make invisible objects and enemies appear visible!
