Economic corridor is an achievement of the government which will change the fate of the country. Chinese investment on One Belt, One Road project to surpass US 1 trillion which will result in additional benefit to Pakistan, a business leader said Sunday. China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a great achievement of the incumbent government that will help Pakistan increase its income and influence to reduce poverty, said Atif Ikram Sheikh, former president ICCI. He said that China should motivate its private sector to invest in industrial projects across Pakistan particularly in the underdeveloped areas. Atif Ikram Sheikh said that this project will have direct impact on the lives of general public and national economy. Pakistan has become the centre of attraction for international investors because of the CPEC as some 65 countries are joining the One Belt, One Road project. These 65 countries are contributing over 40 per cent to the global GDP which will have an impact on Pakistan too. He noted that a number of Chinese companies have partnered with Pakistani government to develop energy infrastructure and rail-based mass transit, special economic zones, infrastructure development and Gwadar-related projects. The business leader said that CPEC is a golden opportunity for Pakistan which is not acceptable for many powers therefore people in the country should try not to make it controversial. He said that government should follow Shenzhen-style development in Gwadar which is one of the wealthiest cities of China.RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday released a list of major achievements of armed forces of Pakistan and ceasefire violations committed by Indian forces along the Line of Control and the Working Boundary during the year 2016. According to details, Pakistan successfully tested enhanced version of Babur cruise missile and indigenously produced air launched Ra’ad missile to make the defence of country impregnable. Similarly, arrangements for security of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor were made, including raising of Special Security Division for 87O kilometer road network. Indian forces violated ceasefire violations at the Line of Control and Working Boundary by 379 times during the year in which 40 Indian soldiers were killed and 46 Pakistani civilians were martyred.
