Not gonna lie, I was thinking about skipping doing one this year because I wasn't into a lot of songs released this year as they surrounded more on trends that didn't fit my tastes. Also, I was quite busy with school and stuff and 2020 was a real pain in general so I didn't know if I was motivated enough to do a full mix for that year. BUT, after working more on it on December, I was motivated by the story I wanted to tell and by the songs I really wanted to share. So, with these in mind, I just decided that I should do what I want and not pressure myself too much with following trends and trying to use too many 'hype' beats. So, that's why I didn't necessarily just put popular songs to represent the year, but have a flow to represent more of how 2020 felt in a story instead. By that mean, I broke some of my usual rules and used some OSTs per example lol :). All this work lead me to present you 'IDENTITY', a 17-minute K-POP MEGA MASH-UP featuring 182 songs (including songs that only appear as instrumental samples)! For this mix, I wanted to represent how 2020 felt through my eyes. At the beginning, there was some sadness and concern about the year, but we still tried to be happy and have our fun to forget about the whole situation. But, as the year progressed, we started trying to fight more instead against all the bad situations and became less afraid to tell what we thought. However, there was still a part of loneliness that was hurting us and we couldn't see each other. To fight against this feeling of weakness, we decided to become stronger people together and continue to "live" on despite being locked down and hope for a better future. All of this wrapped around a "love" story to ease up things. So, this is what I wanted to share with this mix and I hope you'll understand the message! Anyway, I really hope you'll enjoy this mash-up as I've been working hard on it almost every day for the past month! Also, the songs this year were quite a harder challenge to mix since a lot of them played with structure, keys and bpms. Despite all that, I really tried to create a coherent and unified mix (audio and video-wise) which I really hope will sound/look like that for your ears and eyes. I know there are some errors in the video editing, but with my program lagging and my laptop being in a sad state, I didn't really want to retouch everything and just wanted to get all of this over to let my laptop rest. Anyway, I hope these minor problems won't bother you too much and I hope I've created an enjoyable experience for you guys! I don't what 2021 reserves for us, but after the pain 2020 has been, I do hope that the situation will get better and I hope the best for everyone! Stay safe guys! :) I'm sorry if your favorite artists/songs aren't featured in this mix! I can't add every single song that was released in 2020 because it would be way too much impossible and I think 182 songs is already a lot! If a song is not here, it's probably because I couldn't find a place to fit it musically and/or lyrically in the mix. Also, keep in mind that there's limited space in the mix for the songs. So, please refrain from asking where or why a song isn't here! All the comments of that nature will be ignored or deleted. Anyway, I'm sorry again if your favorite artists/songs aren't in this!
