Tractor Mike's video: How to Find Obsolete New Holland Case Deere Kubota or Massey Parts

@How to Find Obsolete New Holland, Case Deere, Kubota or Massey Parts
Got an e-mail from Gary about where to get a left-hand step for his New Holland 1530. Should be easy, right? Maybe not! Today we're going to show how you can look up your own parts and this applies to not only Ford/New Holland, but Deere, Kubota, Case, and Massey, all with their own online parts lookup that can make finding obsolete parts a possibility. First step is to find the website. Here are links to the tractor brands that I know of with online parts lookup: New Holland: https://www.mycnhistore.com/us/en/newhollandag Case IH: https://www.mycnhistore.com/us/en/caseih ::model_find Deere: https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/ Kubota: https://apps.kubotausa.com/illustrated-parts/ AGCO and Massey Ferguson: https://apb.agcocorp.com/ Each of these brands has a system to find virtually any part on a tractor. I went to the New Holland site, typed in the model number, 1530, and started searching for the left-hand step, which obviously is a part of the transmission :). Well, you wouldn't think that, but that's where I found the step diagram...in the transmission section! We found the part Gary likely needs is no longer built, but an entire kit to add a step on the tractor is available and it's $570, which seems outrageous to me. So, I copied the part number and put it in my browser. Found out there's a chance that a company that supplies parts for trucks might have it. It's possible that same step was used on a semi-truck and the 1530 and carried the same number with it to both places. Then we tried to find a salvage option and came up empty, but I'd bet there has to be a burned up or burned out older Ford or New Holland 1530 in a salvage yard somewhere just waiting to be mailed to Gary. That's where I'd start looking. Armed with a part number, many times you can find oddball or older parts online, and those part numbers are readily available on some manufacturer's websites. Familiarizing yourself with how to hunt for parts now can save a lot of time and grief when you're trying to get a job done and speed machinery repairs. It may also help you locate options on really hard to find parts. LINKS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT...
