Tractor Mike's video: Deere Workers Approve Contract

Striking workers at 14 John Deere facilities are back at work after ratifying a new labor agreement. The employees walked out October 14th, and voted down the company's "last and final offer" on November 2nd, but approved a modified offer yesterday (November 17th). The overall vote was 61% for, 39% against, but there wasn't complete agreement on the contract. The Waterloo UAW chapter actually voted down the proposal by a margin of 44 in favor, 56% opposed. The approved contract gives employees an $8500 bonus for returning to work, along with an immediate 10% raise, followed by three 5% raises and some lump sum payments over the next 6 years. In total, the employees were on strike for 25 working days, further exasperating a tight supply chain situation brought on by Covid.
