While tariffs do interfere with free trade, adding tariffs while eliminating the income tax would incentivize a much smaller federal government-- one which was not so dependent on surveillance and violating the privacy of Americans in order to collect tax revenue. The US received a double blow in 1913 that it has never recovered from: the imposition of a central bank (Federal Reserve) and the income tax. It's time to abolish both of them-- and also the Bank Secrecy Act and the so-called Patriot Act. All of these laws and institutions are completely unconstitutional. Not investment advice!
