Trail Perspective's video: Shingle Mill Pathway Michigan

Check out the GPS track on AllTrails here: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/recording/shingle-mill-pathway--2 The heart of Michigan's Elk country, Pigeon River Country State Forest is also home to the Shingle Mill Pathway with loops divided into almost any length. The Shingle Mill Pathway also shares some of its trail with the 70 mile High Country Pathway (HCP) a popular bike-packing loop. This trip is a good choice for viewing the elk herds, avoiding large crowds, and accessing some good dispersed camping sites. Pigeon Bridge Campground is located across Sturgeon Valley Rd. Trailhead for late arrivers, however Pigeon River State Forest Campground is just a few miles up the trail and offers more secluded sites (some river-side). For those that arrive early, Section 4 Lake & Grass Lake have a few sites worth checking out. However, Section 4 does not allow camping within 600 feet and campsites along Grass Lake are limited and dispersed.
