@Railfanning Austell GA 01-28-2023 Part 1: BNSF, UP and 8098? A Spectacular Kickoff
NS GEORGIA DIVISION NS ALABAMA DIVISION NS ATL North District NS East End District Note: This is only Part 1. Putting the entire day in one video would be almost a 2 hour long video. 0:00 NS 735 kicks off the day with an NS C6M leading a BNSF EMD up front and 2 more BNSF EMDs doing DPU duty. NS AC44C6M -HH-Non-Raised Letter K5LA Horn BNSF SD70ACe -H3 BNSF SD70ACe -H3 (Mid-DPU) BNSF SD70MAC -Exec (Mid-DPU) 2:58 Shortly after 735, NS 29A proceeds south after working Whittaker with a trio of Black and White GEs and friendly crew NS ET44AC -HH-Raised Letter K5HL Horn NS AC44C6M -HH NS ES44DC -HH 6:55 Amtrak 19 then comes by entering the East End w/ a P42 leading a P40. Surprisingly this is my first Amtrak in almost a year. Has a Non-Raised Letter K5LA to make it even more, and most of my recent Amtraks lately have P42s with Raised Letter K5LAs leading. Better get these Genesis engines as you can, ALC Chargers are about to take over soon. Amtrak P42DC -Phase V-Non-Raised Letter K5LA Horn Amtrak P40DC -Phase V 7:53 Shortly after Amtrak 19, NS 284 creeps through with a BNSF Dash 9 pair and more friendly crew. BNSF CW44-9 -H2-Narrow Font K3LA Horn BNSF CW44-9 -H2 19:22 NS 224 then passes by with an NS C6M leading the Conrail Heritage Unit. NS AC44C6M -HH-Raised Letter K5LA Horn NS ES44AC -Conrail Heritage 22:18 NS 246 goes by with 3 Union Pacifics and a friendly engineer. Lead UP wore the new paint, which I call "Shield & Flags" because it had a shield on the front and a flag next to the numbers. The 2nd engine wears the Shield scheme and the 3rd is a UP SD70M wearing the Flag scheme. It would stop just south for G89 to pick up half of it's train and have it taken to Whittaker. UP AC44CWCTE -Shield & Flags-Raised Letter K3LA Horn UP AC44CWCTE -Shield UP SD70M -Flags 26:36 After G89 "which I didn't film because the SB was an engine move and the NB move was literally the same thing on 246 "Yeah call me a foamer"", G88 leaves Whittaker with a nice combo of an SD60E leading an SD40. NS SD60E -HH-Narrow Font K5LA Horn NS SD40-2 -HH 30:32 NS 187 then goes by with 4 NS GEs leading a decent sized train.
