Traveling Tom's video: Americas most scenic train ride American Rocky Mountaineer Denver to Moab Part 1

@Americas most scenic train ride American Rocky Mountaineer Denver to Moab Part 1
Enjoy this beautiful train ride through the Rocky Mountains of Colorado! American Rocky Mountaineer is one of America's newest rail excursions. This train travels from Denver, Colorado to Moab, Utah over 1 1/2 days with a overnight in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. In part 1 we start at Big Ten Curve (about 20 miles West of Denver), and end up in the small town of Fraser, Colorado. On this route we travel through 28 tunnels (tunnels 8 and 27 were daylighted) and through the World famous Moffat tunnel. At 6.2 miles long (10 KM) this is one of America's longest railroad tunnels. This is probably the only tunnel in the World with bridges! While building the Moffat, the construction crew encountered huge voids where water naturally drained through the rock. There is three small bridges (less than 30 feet) in the tunnel and totally unseen as they are covered by fencing, wood planks, and ballast. We cross the Continental divide, and come out of the Moffat tunnel at Winter Park, Colorado. This ski resort is always jam packed with skiers in the Winter and mountain bikers in the Summer. Part 1 ends in the small town of Fraser just outside Winter Park. In part 2 we wil travel through the enchanted forest, over the wetlands of Kremmling, and through the Byers and Gore canyons.
