Travels with Megan & Dan's video: Ooty INDIA - Toy Train Trek TEA

WE VISITED OOTY IN EARLY MARCH 2019 After Mysore, we took the bus to the hill station, Ooty, over 2000m high in the Western Ghats. It was a delightful break from the heat and mosquitos! On the first day we visited the Botanical Gardens and saw many exciting plants (dans an old man inside and loved it) . That evening, we visited a Place to Bee, a restaurant/bee museum which served honey infused dishes and beverages (really recommend the braised chicken leg!). The next morning, we went on a 18km trek with Antony. We started in sheep farming village on a hilltop and made our way down through beautiful forest and tea plantations. We saw how the locals lived and stopped for lunch in a very old restaurant with very low ceilings. The next day we relaxed and then visited the tea factory and Dan faced his fear of heights on a sky bridge! We then went to Willys Coffee Pub to play chess (for 4 hours!!!, we are missing games). We left Ooty at 2pm on the following day on the toy train which was built 1909. The journey had outstanding panoramic views of the tea plantations and down the steep mountain sides.
