जोशीमठ एक पवित्र शहर है जो उत्‍तराखंड के चमोली जिले में स्थित है। समुद्र स्‍तर से 6000 फीट की ऊंचाई पर स्थित यह शहर बर्फ से ढकी हिमालय पर्वतमालाओं से घिरा हुआ है। यह स्‍थल हिंदू धर्म के लोगों के लिए प्रतिष्ठित जगह है और यहां कई मंदिर भी स्‍थापित हैं। जोशीमठ, आदि शंकराचार्य द्वारा 8 वीं सदी में स्‍थापित किए जाने वाले चार मठों में से एक है। Kalpavriksha ( 3 kms): Kalpavriksha is a holy tree located in Joshimath, Uttarakhand. Believed to be around 1200 years old, this mulberry tree is a site of pilgrimage owing to the rich history associated with it. According to Hindu scriptures, Lord Shankaracharya worshiped Lord Shiva under this tree. The Jyoteshwar Mahadev Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is built under this tree itself. Narsingh Temple: Beloved to be home to Lord Badrinath, the presiding deity of Narsingh Temple is Lord Narsingh. Lord Narsingh is regarded as an incarnation of Lord Vishnu and the idol is said to be installed in the premises by Shankaracharya. Shri Shankracharya Math: Shri Shankracharya Math is a monastry in Joshimath established by Adi Jagatguru Shankaracharya.
