TreeSisters's video: PLANTING SUCCESS STORIES: Elephants returning to the restored Upper Imenti forest in Kenya

This amazing footage captures the return of elephant herds to the forest in Ruiri Beat, located in the Upper Imenti forest which is adjacent to the TreeSisters and project partners, ITF, planting sites. Over the years, the Upper Imenti forest has suffered severe degradation with reduced water levels and a significant decrease in foliage and shade cover. Thanks to your support, 200,000 trees have been planted in the area since 2021, which has helped restore and reverse the damage caused to the forest. It is now estimated that within the next 5 to 10 years, the site will be fully restored. The site is close to an elephant breeding area, and the restored forests provide these magnificent creatures with lots of shade and foliage to feed their small calves.
