Episode 21 of the sailing adventure in the Caribbean! This episode we continue where we left off sailing with Silver Viking from Georgetown, Exumas to Turks & Caicos. One of the golden rules of cruising in a sailboat is to never have a strict itinerary as there is zero room for errors, which is just about as unrealistic as it gets on a sailboat. Murphy reared his ugly head and threw some engine issues at us – quite common actually when you are in rougher seas because the wave action tends to mix up and gunk in your fuel tanks. We were making great progress sailing to Acklin Islands when we had a sudden shift of the winds to the south, which prevented us from keeping our desired course and on schedule so we attempted to fire up the ole iron beast with no luck. A few hours of repairs at sea (which is always fun, think trying to paint a picture whilst inside a washing machine) we were back in business and holding fast towards our destination.
