Alas we are wrapping up on the south coast of Puerto Rico and knocking on the front door of the Virgin Islands! It has been quite the challenge beating into the wind over the last few months but small achievements along the way such as this keep me motivated and pushing hard. In this episode we visit a little island called Cayo Santiago, which is the home base for the Caribbean Primate Research Center and since December 1938, the island has been the habitat for a free-ranging population of Rhesus monkeys. It was difficult to get some decent footage of this spot as you are not allowed to go ashore, so everything was recorded from a rolly dinghy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cayo_Santiago Later in the episode I finally get the LONG awaited opportunity to enjoy sailing off the wind a bit instead of directly into it. What a treat it was to experience this again, its been almost 2 years since I was able make progress this way.
