Grandduchess Olga Nikolaevna Romanov of Russia was born on Novmeber 15, 1895 in the Peterhof Palace to Tsar Nicolas II and Tsarina Alexandra as their first child. She was later followed by three sisters and a brother. She and Tatiana are known as "The Big Pair" since both are very devoted to one another. At birth, she weighed 10 pounds and her mother died not because of her heavy weight but because of Grandduchess Olga's big head. As she grew up, her big head was a sign that she'd be the most intelligent out of all her siblings. She also loved studying, reading, writing, interfering in politics and helping the poor. In one heart-warming story, she met a poor girl who only walked with crutches. Olga felt so pitiful. She gave a lot of money to pay for the poor girl's hospital bills. Both the girl and her parents are very thankful. Not only is Olga known for her good side, she also throws temper tantrums for most of the time and had a 50/50 relationship with her mother. She and her sister, Tatiana, served as nurses to World War I Russian soldiers. Olga lived a happy life until she and her family were arrested by the Bolsheviks. On the fateful night of July 17, 1918, Olga, her family, their doctor and a few servants were told to go down to the cellar of the Ipatiev House. Bolshevik men shot all of them. Many year later, the bones of the Imperial family were found and then venerated as saints in the Russian Orthodox religion. This video was inspired by a comment of Movses Timiryan.
