But there's a catch: it's not a true representation of how our bodies digest food. 🤔 It's a lot more complicated than that. 🔄 It’s not just how many calories are in the food, but how many calories our bodies actually absorb. 🍔 Generally, highly processed foods are easier for the body to digest, which means we end up taking in more calories. Foods which are higher in protein and fibre are harder for the body to break down, meaning we absorb less calories Plus, they release hormones which make us feel full and satisfied - meaning we’re less likely to experience cravings!
