Trustin Timber's video: TIMBER BUSHCRAFT SHELTER - Mors Kochanski Inspired

@TIMBER BUSHCRAFT SHELTER - Mors Kochanski Inspired
The following film takes place on a tree farm. The farmer chose to plant trees on his land 30 years ago instead of growing corn or raising cattle. These trees have been a carbon sink and oxygen producing source for the last 30 years. However, for this crop to have value to the farmer they must grow bigger for commercial value. My job is to thin this forest so the remaining trees will have more nutrients in the soil, more space to grow, and more sunlight to fall upon them. However, I can’t just let these beautiful trees go to waste just because they have no commercial value. So I build with them. Please do not cut down trees on public or parkland!!! Please respect and protect our environment. If you want to learn more about why we are cutting down these trees check out Video 02/ THE TREE FARM - ONTARIO, CANADA https://youtu.be/uX_M-QWd6Sc ... Welcome to our new playground. We'll be working on this tree farm for the next little while so we wanted to start with building a little shelter to store our tools and camp out a few nights. The shelter was built completely with tree materials. No nails, wire, or cordage is used in this construction. Everything is a natural material right from this forest. So a long time from now when this rots away everything will become part of the earths nutrition once again. The "V" grove ridge pole idea and some of the knowledge came from the book "BUSHCRAFT" by Mors Kochanski . The design, as far as I know, is an original structure. It was simply just developed as we went. We kept what we liked, and changed what we didn't until it looked good and felt functional. Over time as we harvest more trees the full shelter will get covered with spruce bows. There are a bunch of other additions and features but we'll do those for videos down the road.
