Ty Ty the Train Guy Productions's video: Kansas City Southern Holiday Express 2019

On December 7 and 8, 2019, we chased one of our favorite Christmas traditions whenever it comes near us, and that is the Kansas City Southern Holiday Express. We chased the Kansas City Southern Holiday Express from DeQuincy, LA to Leesville, LA on Saturday, December 7. With a last minute decision, we also decided to chase it a little bit more to Fisher, LA while it journeys to it's next stop in Mansfield, LA on December 8. The Holiday Express contains former freight cars that are decorated in Christmas decorations that are pulled by vintage diesels, KCS , , & . KCS is a FP9A built in 1955, KCS is also a FP9A built in 1954, and KCS is a FP9B built in 1955. All diesels are built by the General Motors Diesel (owned by Electro-Motive Division) for the Canadian National Railway. KCS 1 was originally numbered , KCS 2 was originally numbered , and KCS 3 was originally numbered . They were purchased by the Kansas City Southern Railway around the early 90s. They were painted black until 2007 when they were painted into the black, red, and yellow, Southern Belle paint scheme. Since 2001, they've been assigned to pull the Holiday Express around the KCS mainline every December. The Holiday Express were old retired freight cars that were restored and decorated with Christmas decorations. The consist includes a smiling tank car named "Rudy," a flat car with Santa's sleigh and reindeer, a gingerbread boxcar, and two car cabooses and an O scale layout boxcar that you can go inside and walk through. The Holiday Express rides the rails to let people walk through and for charity. Join us while we had a blast chasing the Kansas City Southern Holiday Express through Western Louisiana.
