Tyler Cave's video: Mushroom Foraging on Vancouver Island

@Mushroom Foraging on Vancouver Island
We went out with Discovery Standup ( James ) and he took us out mushroom foraging here on the northern part of Vancouver Island near Campbell River. We went out and picked chantrelle mushrooms and came across some other ones as well. James showed us the proper way to cut and cook mushrooms. Bring a knife and some bags and you can go home with some amazing food straight out of the forest! We went back home, cleaned the mushrooms with a brush because it can damage them by washing under water. We then let them dry, and cooked the ones we wanted for dinner which went well with a nice steak dinner! And, as always, Chanterelle season is ENTIRELY dependent upon rainfall. No rain, no mushrooms. The best time to search begins 2-3 days after a heavy rainfall in hot, humid weather, and continuing for 2-3 weeks after that rain, especially if it keeps raining. The climate here on Vancouver Island is perfect, especially in the months of September and October when we begin to get more rain. Email: Tylercaveproductions@gmail.com
