UNICEF Uganda's video: I had lost hope Hope to be alive

@I had lost hope. Hope to be alive
Antenatal visits usually give soon to be mothers hope and excitement as they are told both them and the fetus are in good condition. This one had shocking news for Joan Mbeiza of Jinja District; she tested positive for HIV. This marked the beginning of worry and put her in a state of hopelessness. Little did she know that she would survive and regain hope. After delivery, Joan fell sick and shed a lot of weight but was introduced to the YAPS initiative and enrolled on care and medication. Now she shares a message of hope. 60 YAPS peer supporters have been trained in 4 districts of Eastern Uganda to support 1,579 adolescents and young people to improve their HIV outcomes in identification, enrolment, retention, and viral load suppression. The 'Young people and Adolescents Peer Support programme (YAPS) is implemented in Eastern Uganda by USAID-RHITES EC.
