UNMILTV's video: UNMIL Celebrates the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers

UNMIL has celebrated the International Day of UN Peacekeepers at mission headquarters in Monrovia.The ceremony included a parade of UNMIL military and police contingents who were joined by representatives of the Armed Forces of Liberia, Liberia National Police and the Bureau of Immigration and Naturalisation. Honoured guest, Hon. Brownie J. Samukai, Minister of National Defense, Republic of Liberia, and the Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Mr. Farid Zarif laid wreathes in memory of fallen Peacekeepers. The SRSG and the Defense Minister addressed the gathering of senior officials of the Liberian government, the United Nations family, members of the Diplomatic Corps, non-governmental organizations and other partners.
