Military Tech's video: US F-35 Stealth Fighter Performs Combat Debut in Iraq

The United States Air Force said two of its F-35 stealth fighter jets had carried out their first combat mission in the mountains of Iraq, bombing the target of the Islamic State (ISIS). This was the debut of the US Air Force F-35 fighter, three years after it was declared suitable for combat tasks. The attack in support of Operation Inherent Resolve was carried out by two US Air Force F-35A Lightning II aircraft over the Wadi Ashai mountains in Iraq on Tuesday local time. "F-35As carried out air strikes using Joint Direct Attack Munition to attack Daesh network tunnels and armories deep within the Hamrin Mountains, a location that could threaten allied forces," read the statement. "This attack marks the F-35A's first combat work," continued the statement, as quoted by Russia Today, Wednesday (1/5/2019).
