The United States military has deployed nearly a dozen Air Force fighter jets to Qatar in Teluk Peris this week. The deployment of dozens of aircraft was carried out amid growing tensions with Iran and threats to US forces in the region. The F-22 Raptors type fighter arrived Thursday to the al-Udeid air base, the center of US air operations in the Middle East. In a statement, the US Central Command said that the aircraft was being deployed to Qatar for the first time to defend American forces and interests, as reported by Fox News, Saturday (06/29/2019).
